Art Contest Rules

  1. Utah students, grades 6-12 are eligible.
  2. There is no entry fee.
  3. All rights are retained by the student. Entries may be displayed during the CONduit convention.
  4. Work must relate to speculative themes. Speculative themes include science fiction, horror, and fantasy.
  5. Work must meet school district guidelines for appropriateness.
  6. All work must be original.
  7. Works relating to copyrighted, trademarked, or registered properties like Star TrekTM or Star WarsTM cannot be accepted.
  8. Paintings, drawings, and other flat media are eligible.
  9. All work must be unmatted, flat, and not folded. There is a 10"x13" maximum size limit.
  10. A sheet of paper must be attached to the work, giving the student's name and address, the school's name and address, the student's grade level, and a statement by the student's teacher or guardian that the work is original by the student and may be considered in the contest. (Note that the official entry form requests all of this information.) The entry form should be attached to the work.

  12. If you want your work returned after the contest, be sure to include a stamped, self-addressed envelope.
  13. Submissions must be postmarked no later than May 1, 2006.
  14. Students may enter as many times as they wish.
  15. Only work that has not won a previous RFF Utah Writing and Art Contest is eligible.
  16. All finalists receive two free one-day passes to CONduit for Saturday.
  17. RFF Utah reserves the right to make changes to the rules to meet the needs of the contest.
